Business Spotlight Terms & Conditions

These Terms and Conditions apply to paid Business Spotlight services purchased from Central Florida Local (“Central Florida Local,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).

By purchasing a Business Spotlight, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions.

1. Business Spotlight Service

A Business Spotlight is a paid promotional content service in which Central Florida Local visits an approved business, experiences the business as a customer, creates original video content featuring the business, and publishes the completed Spotlight through Central Florida Local’s applicable social media platforms.

Payment purchases the Spotlight service and does not purchase a positive review, endorsement, specific opinion, or predetermined statement about the business.

2. Submission and Approval

Purchasing a Business Spotlight does not automatically guarantee acceptance.

Central Florida Local reserves the right to review each purchase and decline a Spotlight when reasonably necessary, including when a business is outside our coverage area, does not fit the nature of Central Florida Local’s content, presents scheduling or access issues, or otherwise cannot reasonably be featured.

If Central Florida Local declines a Business Spotlight before the service is performed, the amount paid for the Spotlight will be refunded.

3. Anonymous Visit

Central Florida Local’s Spotlights are designed to reflect an authentic customer experience.

The exact date and time of our visit will not be disclosed in advance.

No appointment or coordination is normally required after approval. Central Florida Local may visit anonymously during the business’s publicly posted regular operating hours.

Businesses agree not to require advance identification of the person conducting the Spotlight as a condition of providing the purchased service.

If additional information is necessary before we can complete the Spotlight, Central Florida Local may contact the business.

4. Business Information and Availability

The business is responsible for providing accurate and current information when purchasing a Spotlight.

Businesses should maintain accurate publicly available operating hours and notify Central Florida Local of any extended closures or circumstances that would make an anonymous visit impossible.

Central Florida Local is not responsible for delays caused by inaccurate hours, unexpected closures, restricted access, private events, or other circumstances outside our reasonable control.

5. Authentic Experience and Editorial Independence

Purchasing a Spotlight does not give the business control over Central Florida Local’s experience, opinions, narration, editing, or final content.

Central Florida Local retains full editorial and creative control over the Spotlight, including:

  • What is filmed
  • What products, food, services, or areas are featured
  • Video length and format
  • Narration and on-screen text
  • Editing and creative style
  • Thumbnail or cover selection
  • Caption and description
  • Publication platform(s) and presentation

Central Florida Local will describe our actual experience honestly and will not knowingly make false or misleading statements about a business.

Payment does not guarantee praise or exclusively positive coverage.

6. Food, Products, Admission and Other Purchases

Unless a particular Business Spotlight package specifically states otherwise, the Spotlight price covers the content creation and promotional service.

Any separate food, merchandise, admission, activity, or other purchase allowance included with a package will be governed by the description of the package purchased.

Central Florida Local determines what items are reasonably appropriate to purchase or experience for purposes of creating the Spotlight.

Unused portions of an included purchase allowance are not redeemable for cash or payable to the business unless otherwise stated in the package description.

7. Publication

Central Florida Local will make reasonable efforts to publish an approved Spotlight after the anonymous visit and completion of editing.

Publication dates may vary depending on content scheduling, editing, business availability, platform issues, emergencies, or other circumstances.

Unless a specific publication date is expressly included in the purchased package, no particular publication date is guaranteed.

8. Sponsored Content Disclosure

Because a Business Spotlight is a paid promotional service, Central Florida Local may identify the content as sponsored, paid, promotional, an advertisement, a paid partnership, or with another appropriate disclosure.

Central Florida Local retains control over the wording and placement of disclosures necessary to comply with applicable laws, regulations, and social media platform requirements.

The business may not request removal or concealment of a legally or platform-required sponsorship disclosure.

9. Views, Engagement and Results

Central Florida Local does not guarantee any particular number of:

  • Views
  • Likes
  • Comments
  • Shares
  • Followers
  • Website visits
  • Phone calls
  • Customers
  • Reservations
  • Purchases
  • Revenue or sales

Social media performance is influenced by factors outside Central Florida Local’s control, including platform algorithms, audience interest, timing, competition, and changes made by social media platforms.

Past performance of Central Florida Local content does not guarantee the performance of any future Spotlight.

10. Content Ownership

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, all video footage, photographs, audio, narration, graphics, edits, captions, and other original content created by Central Florida Local remain the property of Central Florida Local.

Purchasing a Business Spotlight purchases the Spotlight service and does not transfer ownership or copyright of the resulting content to the business.

11. Sharing and Reuse

Businesses are welcome to share Central Florida Local’s original published social media post using the sharing features provided by the applicable platform.

Unless separate written permission or licensing rights are provided, purchasing a Business Spotlight does not automatically authorize the business to:

  • Download and re-upload the video to its own account
  • Edit, crop, alter, or create derivative versions of the video
  • Remove Central Florida Local branding, attribution, or disclosures
  • Use the content in paid social media advertising
  • Boost the content as an advertisement
  • Use the content in television, streaming, print, digital advertising, or other commercial campaigns
  • Sell, sublicense, or provide the content to another party for commercial use

Additional content usage or advertising rights may be available separately with written permission from Central Florida Local.

12. Business Reposting of Statements

A business may not edit, excerpt, or present Central Florida Local’s content in a manner that materially changes the meaning of our statements or falsely suggests that Central Florida Local made an endorsement or claim that was not included in the original content.

13. Revisions and Approval

Business Spotlights are created according to Central Florida Local’s editorial style.

Businesses do not receive editorial approval of the finished Spotlight before publication unless Central Florida Local expressly agrees otherwise in writing.

Central Florida Local may voluntarily correct material factual errors brought to our attention.

A difference of opinion regarding creative choices, narration, editing, food or product preferences, or the business’s presentation does not require Central Florida Local to alter or remove published content.

14. Cancellations and Refunds

If Central Florida Local declines a purchased Spotlight before the service is performed, the Spotlight payment will be refunded.

Once Central Florida Local has completed the anonymous visit or otherwise substantially begun performing the purchased Spotlight service, payments are generally non-refundable except where required by law or where Central Florida Local determines otherwise.

A business’s dissatisfaction with views, engagement, creative decisions, or the honest portrayal of Central Florida Local’s experience does not by itself entitle the business to a refund.

15. Removal of Published Content

Purchasing a Business Spotlight does not guarantee that content will remain available indefinitely.

Central Florida Local may remove, archive, edit, or discontinue content when reasonably necessary, including because of platform policies, legal concerns, factual corrections, account changes, or other circumstances.

Removal of content after the Spotlight service has been performed does not automatically create a right to a refund.

16. Business Authorization

By purchasing a Business Spotlight, you represent that:

  • You are at least 18 years old;
  • You are the business owner or are authorized to purchase promotional services on behalf of the business;
  • The information you provide is accurate to the best of your knowledge; and
  • You have authority to agree to these Terms and Conditions on behalf of the business.

17. Third-Party Platforms

Central Florida Local publishes content through third-party platforms that may include Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and others.

Central Florida Local does not control these platforms and is not responsible for algorithm changes, outages, account restrictions, content removals, platform policy changes, or other actions taken by third-party platforms.

18. Limitation of Results

The Business Spotlight is a promotional content service. Central Florida Local makes no representation or warranty that purchasing a Spotlight will produce any specific commercial or financial result.

The business remains solely responsible for its products, services, operations, customer service, pricing, safety, licensing, regulatory compliance, and interactions with customers.

19. Privacy

Information submitted in connection with a Business Spotlight will be handled in accordance with the Central Florida Local Privacy Policy.

20. Changes to These Terms

Central Florida Local may update these Terms and Conditions periodically.

The terms applicable to a Business Spotlight purchase will generally be the terms presented or in effect when the purchase is made, except where changes are required by law.
